STAR Rock Crystal Chandelier Lighting

A fine carved star form rock crystal chandelier,  available in nickel plating and the frame the height can be adjusted. This surprising chandelier is precious enough due to difficulties to find blocks of rock-crystal reaching for quality and density. It is rare to be able to extract large needles in sufficient quantity to make a chandelier. Rock crystal has always been a precious mineral through time, from Antiquity to the Renaissance, it was found in palaces and cabinets de curiosity, sometimes in their natural state called "Etat brut", or cut in pointed shapes without any other artifice. The vogue of rock crystal became in Renaissance times a favorite gem among rulers who took pride in showing the fascinating work of goldsmiths incorporating rock crystal into fabulous animals and other decorative pieces, for table settings. One can find such examples in Germany and Austria, especially in Dresden, but also in Bohemia at the court of RUDOLF II in Prague, the most famous. Rock crystal is praised for its beauty, luminosity and transparence, sometimes opaque like a milky substance, depending on the origins of the minerals: it can be found in Madagascar Brazil or even the Alps, all different in transparency. His utilization in contemporary lighting, in our case, gives rock crystal its luminosity and contributes beautifully to a fine decor. One can say that rock crystal is shown at his best in a contemporary and utilitarian design. ​
