The Dream Catcher Serape #2 rug is inspired by southwestern Native American rug weaving traditions. Red field with black and white linear geometric designs.

Our rugs are woven by finely trained weavers in India, using New Zealand wool and color fast Swiss chrome dyes. We worked with our weavers over a four-year period to reproduce the exact feel, texture, weave and look found in the Native American textiles of the American southwest, including weft sharing which creates a sawtooth pattern where two colors come together, lazy lines, side binding and corner tassels. Rugs are woven in traditional designs based on examples of Ganado, Teec Nos Pos, Two Grey Hills, Crystal, Chief Blankets, etc. These lovely Native American-inspired rugs are available from small to very large sizes.

Please contact us if you need a customized size.

Wool Yarn:  Our high quality long fiber New Zealand wool is:

  • Scoured  - cleaned of excess lanolin and foreign materials,
  • Carded – combed to align the fibers, and;
  • Spun – formed into yarn.

Handspun yarn has varying diameter along its length, which takes dye unequally and produces a “nubby” or textured look in the finished rug.  This variation in dye absorption yields a pleasant color gradation across the rug that cannot be achieved using machine-spun wool.

Machine spun yarn has uniform diameter, which takes dye evenly and produces an even color and smooth finish.

Dyes:  Swiss Chrome Dyes
